T-Mobile 5G HQ

WORK CASE 2
AGENCY: VCCP
ROLE: Designer, Creative Direction

Building the ultimate resource for innovation-driven business owners to understand what 5G can do for them.

5G HQ was the answer that T-Mobile for Business wanted to give to help business owners start to answer “what is 5G about and why do I care?” The landscape is filled with competition talking about how their offering is better, but first TFB wanted to get at the core questions these business mavericks have.

Our directive was simple, build a sub-brand, a destination within the T-Mobile world that captures that innovative, fresh, detail-oriented vibe. So as with most projects like this, started with the logo.

Simple, clean, technologically-inspired, and most important ownable by T-Mobile.

Once we had our logo finalized, I went to work crafting an entire bible for the visual direction of the program. Everything from why certain colors were used (especially in contrast to TMO core brand), how to approach typography, rules on how we come to life within video and photography and even set the rules on the graphical overlays seen throughout the work especially in the award winning branded content created with our amazing production partners at Alkemy-X.

Building the online destination using the guidelines we created was a collaborative effort

Once the visual direction was completed and had the T-Mobile blessing we started our collaboration in launching the website destination. This was a huge task working with multiple agencies to get it done. We took the lead on creative direction, keeping things in the world we had created.

Our video series featuring Jason Silva served as the linchpin of the platform

5G HQ features various forms of content and touchpoints. One of our highest production pieces are the “5G Business Scenarios” featuring TV personality and futurist Jason Silva. All throughout production we worked with our partners to ensure our visual style and personality was infused throughout.

Whether it was our color palette leaning into a cleaner aesthetic, our use of geometry and sharp lines and even how we displayed technical information every step we aligned to create some of the most engaging content on 5G to date.

This work garnered some awards in the year 2023
